General
The logging panel is where you will enter records into the track log. There are several different types of record, which are explained below.
Input Fields
Post/Caller
When the page is loaded, this field is automatically selected to help quick entry of information. This field is known as a drop-down text box. This means if you start typing or click the field, you will see a drop down of some pre-specified options. You can either select one of these or type out your own.
This field is optional but is vital for many types of repots.
Car Number
Either a single or multiple car numbers can be entered into the log with this box.
To enter multiple car numbers, separate the number with commas (,). E.g. 45,85,21,3,45.
Note, this will have different effects depending on what type of record you are entering.
If entering a comment with multiple car numbers, a single record will be added with all car numbers in the car number field.
If entering a track limit with multiple car numbers, a record for each car number will be entered.
If entering a penalty/extra flag with multiple car numbers, a record for each car number will be entered.
The field itself is optional but is vital for many types of reports such as track limits and penalties.
Comment
The comment field is optional and is free text.
When logging penalties, the comment box is used as the ‘reason’ field for the penalty
Buttons
Comment Only
If you would like to add a comment to the log, simply click the comment only button. You can also click the enter key on your keyboard to activate this button meaning you can quickly log a report with only using your keyboard. This can be used for logging what is happening on track such as spin and continue, run wide, contact etc.
If multiple car numbers are entered, a single comment record will be added with all car numbers in the single car number field.
Track Limits
To log a track limit report, enter the post/caller, the car number, optionally a comment if required and then click the Track Limits button. This will log the report and add to the counter for that car.
If multiple car numbers are entered, each car number will get its own record when entered.
Track Status Flags
Simply press one of these buttons to enter that status into the log.
This will also put the current status into the header bar. This is to be a quick look feature to see the current status on track.
Note: This is for logging only. It will not affect any other system such as timing screens, track flag panels or display boards.
Extra Options
The extra options section can be accessed by clicking the ‘Extra Options’ button. It can also be kept open permanently with the ‘Open Extra Box’ setting at the top of the screen
‘Standard’ Penalties
There are several standard penalties/actions in the penalties panel such as Black & White Flag, Drive Through, 5 Sec Penalty etc.
Simply enter car number(s) into the input field, optionally a reason (in the comment field), and click the corresponding penalty button. This will then be entered into the log.
‘Custom’ Penalties
There are currently two custom penalties, Custom Stop & Go Duration and Custom Time Penalty.
Each of these have a ‘custom duration’ field where you can enter a number. Below this section there are a number of radio buttons (such as Second, Minute, Lap) to specify the unit of time.
After you have entered the usual car number into the input field and optionally a reason (in the comment field), enter the custom duration and select the appropriate unit of measurement, then click the button next to the custom duration field. This will then be entered into the log.
See Driver After
In this section there is an additional button labelled ‘See Driver After’. This is to help build a list of cars/drivers you need to see after the session along with a reason in the comment field.
Add Investigation
This will add a investigation with the details entered. Note: if you archive this type of record, it WILL ALSO delete the investigation itself.
